ABOUT

David W. Jaffin

PRINCIPAL CFO SOLUTIONS

I have over 40 years of financial management experience in both public and private companies. I have managed or helped manage all parts of the financial lifecycle, from start-up and initial capital raising to growth and profitable operations, and finally to sale and exit.

During my career I have been fortunate enough to see what works and what doesn’t – it is critical to see both good and bad outcomes and appreciate – equally -  the causes of failure and the necessary preconditions for success.

I started my work life as an auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. Other career highlights include a continuing relationship with Bradford Equities Management and its predecessors, where I’ve been a transaction analyst, CFO of a portfolio company, and now a director/advisor; a principal at a startup in the exchange-traded fund business which was successfully sold to a major financial institution; CFO of a startup biotech which was running out of cash when I came on board. For the past five years, I have been a fractional CFO to a terrific group of clients, which has been a wonderful experience.

I live with my wife, our two college-age kids, and a revolving cast of pets in Woodbury, CT. My hobbies are birding, drawing, hiking, flyfishing, and discussing current events with my friends (especially those with whom I disagree!).

I received a BA in History from Harvard College and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from New York University. I am also a CPA (currently inactive) in the State of New York.
